The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the largest exhibition for the mobile industry in the world. During this event the latest technologies and innovations of the main brands and manufacturers of smartphones, tablets, smartwatch and other mobile devices are presented.
The event is held every year in the city of Barcelona with the primary objective, to allow manufacturers and enthusiasts of mobile devices, to show their latest offers.

Origins of the Mobile World Congress
Initially, the Mobile World Congress was held in France, usually in late February or early spring. The first edition of this event was held in 1987 and from that date until 2006, it was continued in France. At that time, the name the event received was “GSM World Congress”.
When the change of headquarters to the city of Barcelona was decided, its name was also modified as the Mobile World Congress.
The idea was to keep pace and relevance with respect to changing mobile technologies. For its part, GSMA is an organization of mobile operators and companies that collaborate to standardize the mobile platform.
Where and when is the next Mobile World Congress 2020?
The next Mobile World Congress will be held, as every year, in the city of Barcelona. The event is scheduled to begin on February 24, 2020 and concludes on February 27 of the same year. All activities and exhibitions will be held at the Fira Barcelona Gran Vía.
